The Memphis Grizzlies (54-27) host the Indiana Pacers (38-43) tonight. The regular season will end tonight in the NBA, but the Pacers are still fighting for the final playoff sport out of the Eastern Conference.

Indiana have won six games in a row and shot right up the standings in the East. However, the Nets still have a chance to take over 8th in the East. If the Pacers lose and the Nets win – the Pacers are out.

The Grizzlies are pretty banged up and I think it’s likely they’ll sit some starters. Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are both GTD’s tonight and I bet they’ll end up sitting and waiting for the start of the playoffs.

Tony Allen is also out for the Grizzlies and Chris Copeland is out for the Pacers. Indiana are just 15-25 on the road, but they’ve won two road games in a row during their current winning streak.

This is an experienced team with the likes of George Hill, David West and Roy Hibbert. They know what it takes to make the playoffs and I expect the three vets to have monster games tonight.

Hill has been unstoppable lately and playing more like Westbrook than his normal self. Hill played the entire game against the Wizards and he finished with 24 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds.

Hibbert and West are producing as well, but I’ve been really impressed with C.J. Miles. Miles has scored 24+ points in each of the Pacers last three games. He has been a huge part of the Pacers run.

These two teams are very similar. Indiana score 97.5 PPG (24th) and allow 97.1 PPG (4th), while Memphis score 98.4 PPG (19th) and allow 95.2 PPG (2nd). The Pacers are a much better rebounding team though.

If the Pacers can dominate the glass tonight they’ll win in Memphis and guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs. If Gasol is out the Pacers have no excuse for not taking care of business.

These teams have only played each other once and the Grizzlies won 97-89 on the road. However, Hill and West both missed the first H2H game – with those two back in the line-up the Pacers should win.

You can bet on Indiana at +1.5 or you could bet on the Pacers money line at slightly better odds. I don’t expect the point spread will come into play in this match-up and I like Indy to win the game.

In these do or die situations I always take the team with more to lose. Memphis are in the playoffs and more concerned about health right now. Indiana need to win and they’re playing great basketball.
